First Round of the Playoffs. Man, was it cold. 34 degrees, windy and drizzling. I could not feel my fingers by the end of the first half.
Cedar Park won it handily.

Two Old Movie Theatres

You don't see too many Drive-Ins more. They have not tore down Redland's yet. But it has been gone for awhile.
The Paramount in Austin is still alive and vibrant in downtown Austin on SoCo in sight of the Capital.
09-06-2013 Vista Ridge vs. LBJ

Another Vista Ridge game. This time they were at home. LBJ was majorly undermanned and Vista Ridge was able to win the game easily.
I had to battle with grain in my photos. Since I upgraded my camera this summer, I may need to update my lens as well.
You can see a few more photos at my gallery.

Are you ready for some High School Football?
Tuesday, August 27, 2013
Its that time of the year again. When the kids spend hours getting ready for what is really important in life. High School Football.....I jest, but in Texas, High School Football is a religion to some. There is a reason that Friday Night Lights (TV Series) was filmed in and around Austin, Texas. With much of the game footage being shot in Pflugerville.
2012 Quarterfinals Cedar Park vs. Alice Coyotes
I am back in action as well. I will be shooting at two football games this week. I will be covering a game in Bastrop on Thursday and will be out in west Austin on Friday.
Monster Movies
Sunday, August 18, 2013
So last Monday, I watched a Classic Monster Movie double-header using Netflix streaming.
The Mummy (1932) with Boris Karloff and Dracula (1931) with Bela Lugosi. Two great classic Black and White monster movies with two iconic actors.
I really love both of these movies. They do a great job of standing the test of time. And I am wanting that The Mummy poster for my wall.
One thing I never noticed before is that they both have The Stare. Where they try to impose their will on a hapless victim. Not sure which is more creepy.

Instagram links not ready for prime time
Saturday, August 17, 2013
I am not sure where the issue lies but it would appear that the instagram links to photos are not quite ready for prime time. They do look really nice when they work however. Kind of give an old Polaroid look to the photos. But they sometimes take several seconds to come up or not at all requiring a page refresh. Not sure how much I will use them instead of using some other method. Would be nice to upload once and use that location for all other activities.
Little instagram test
Friday, August 2, 2013
Instagram now allows you to post a little snip-it of HTML into your Blog/Webpages. I am curious to what it may look like. It took me a couple tries but I was able to find a height and width that worked. I took this photo a couple weeks ago at the Zilker Botanical Gardens.

Staring at you through the glass,
Don't know how much time has past,
All I know is that it feels like forever,
But no one ever tells you that
Forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head.

Bring on the wonder
I remember when I first listened to this song, it really moved me. Sometime, somewhere it took on another meaning to me. About my life and what I hoped for. Things always change and I listening to it again trying to find something.
Day 57/365 Slowing down
Things have been a little erratic in my life lately. So have not been taking photos as often as I would like. I did get a new camera body yesterday. A Canon 60D. This is the first photo that I took with it.
